PORT MATILDA, PA | December 4, 2015

Nittany Building Specialties, Inc, a leading Central Pennsylvania glazing contractor, announced today that it has received national certification as a Women Owned Business by The Women's Business Enterprise Council (WBENC).

Terry Deaven, the company's former president and owner for more than 35 years, stated "I was very proud to see the transfer of ownership of our family business to my daughter in 2014. Receiving the news today about the WBE Certification will help ensure the continued growth and success of Nittany." Current president, Jacquelynn Hook (Deaven) appreciates the opportunity to be officially certified as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise and is looking forward to increased growth and learning opportunities in years to come. Hook states "It's an honor to operate a business that has been part of our family since 1978. And, now to have the opportunity to become certified as a WBE, we believe it will help propel our company stay competitive and strong well into the next generation."

The WBENC certification, for women-owned businesses, certifies that a company is at least 51% woman/women owned. It is the most rigorous and sought after certification of its kind. Working with WBENC certified companies can help corporations fulfill contract obligations. Companies and government agencies that include women-owned businesses as their vendors show their commitment to fostering diversity.
